Gaelle Gralnek joined Neufeld, Marks & Gralnek in early 2007, returning to private practice after handling litigation matters from the inside at a large corporate law department. Ms. Gralnek has represented both individuals and companies in disputes involving partnership/corporate governance, lease interpretation, anticompetitive business practices, breach of fiduciary duty, alleged trade secret misappropriation, breach of contract, and specific performance, among others.
Ms. Gralnek began her legal career at O'Melveny & Myers, defending clients in a wide range of matters including intellectual property, alleged violations of the federal securities laws and professional malpractice. Presented with an opportunity to focus on professional liability defense, Ms. Gralnek joined the General Counsel's office of Ernst & Young LLP, where she spent more than 13 years defending the firm and its professionals in state and federal court litigation involving all aspects of the firm's practice, including audit, tax, real estate valuation and litigation support services. Ms. Gralnek was trial counsel in Mattco Forge v. Arthur Young & Co. (1997) 52 Cal. App. 4th 820, a case of first impression involving an accountant's liability for litigation support (expert witness) services. |
While handling tax matters at Ernst & Young, Ms. Gralnek pursued her LL.M. in Taxation, where her coursework included representing individual taxpayers before the State Board of Equalization on appeals from the Franchise Tax Board. Ms. Gralnek also has extensive experience handling mediations, arbitrations and administrative proceedings. In addition to litigating, Ms. Gralnek also advises clients on minimizing legal and business risks.
Ms. Gralnek is a member of the Board of Directors for the non-profit Peacock Foundation, which provides animal-assisted therapy to traumatized youth in the Los Angeles area. |
